FAN is a local charity that brings people of all ages together in the spirit of friendship. If you enjoy meeting others or are feeling a little lonely, you will be sure of finding a warm welcome. FAN groups create a sense of community and are a wonderful network. If you’re learning English, FAN can be a good way to improve your skills.

FAN stands for Friends and Neighbours. Who is my friend? Who is my neighbour? Come to a FAN Group and you’ll meet friends and neighbours and feel more hopeful for the world. It’s a great opportunity for local people to meet newcomers. Very few people know all their neighbours these days!

When and where? In Cardiff many FAN groups meet weekly. We also have groups in Swansea, Bridgend, Pontypridd, Newport and Ebbw Vale.

Who? For men and women from any country and any religion (or no religion) to meet in friendship and to talk about our daily lives

What do we do? We sit in a circle and listen as each person speaks in turn for a short time. We do not interrupt (which can be difficult) but it is important to give each person our full attention. We then close the me

Cost? There is no chargeeting and we can chat.
