Adult Learners’ Week is a campaign which combines national promotion with local action. The campaign offers adults the chance to have a go at learning something new by trying out one of the hundreds of free taster sessions that happen across Wales during the week.

Adult Learners’ Week is a celebration of the benefits of lifelong learning and is the perfect opportunity to explore the many types of learning available to adults in their locality. The event is being coordinated nationwide by NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education).

CARE WORK 5 DAY TRAINING

JUNE 2013

 Care Work

Preparing to become a Personal Assistant in the Care Sector.

The BRG Prosperous Communities programme is working in partnership with the Oxfam Sustainable Livelihoods programme and Diverse Cymru to promote employment opportunities in the social care sector. Successful applicants will be required to work within local communities (including Butetown, Riverside & Grangetown) assisting vulnerable and elderly individuals with daily tasks to enable them to maintain their independence at home.

We are seeking suitable applicants who are interested in helping others maintain their dignity and quality of life. Care work can be a challenging but a fulfilling vocation and offers many rewards, from the positive contribution made to other people’s lives, to training and personal development opportunities. Cardiff is a culturally diverse city so additional language skills (while not a necessity) can be beneficial.

This is an Agored (Level 1) accredited course

Participants will need to complete all 5 sessions to obtain the qualification
