We’ll be stepping back in time over half-term with an exciting day out to the Gwili Steam Railway and Kidwelly Castle – all in one day!
We’ll be going by coach to Carmarthenshire in West Wales to Gwili Steam Railway, where we’ll have a thrilling ride on an old fashioned steam train through beautiful countryside. We’ll also get a chance to go on the miniature railway and have a look around the information centre.
We’ll have a picnic lunch (or you can get a snack from the cafe), before setting off on the coach to our next stop – Kidwelly Castle.
Kidwelly Castle is a wonderfully preserved Medieval castle dating back to the 1200, most of its spiral staircases and towers are still in tact and great fun for exploring.
We’ll stay there for about an hour, depending on the weather, and then get back on the coach and arrive around 5.30pm.
- You will need to use time credits – 5 time-credits for adults and 4 time-credits for children.
- Please bring your own packed lunch for you and your children, or money for lunch at the cafe
- Wear warm, waterproof clothes and comfortable shoes for walking – trainers are ideal.
- Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If you are a parent or guardian, please supervise your child at all times.
Not enough time credits? Why not check out all the opportunities to volunteer between now and then – remember you get a time credit for each hour you help out.
