Food co-op and activities

Come to our new Food Co-op at the Wyndham Diner and enjoy food demos and tasters, do a spot of gardening and during half-term will have some kids activities.

Family sized bags of fresh fruit and vegetables are just £3, eggs (£.90 for half a dozen)and smoothies.

How it works:

Choose from the selection available of fruit/veg/eggs below.

Come on Tuesday from 12pm to collect your bags, and then re-order for the following week.  You can also make a request via email or phone – but you must pay in advance.

Women’s Chat – Wyndham Street Diner

If you’d like to meet other local women and have a social chat over a cuppa and a biscuit, then pop down to the Wyndham Street Diner for Women’s Chat.

We’re a friendly group, we chat, we learn new skills and go on trips and do activities.  As well as things like cycling, beauty treatments and cooking together, we can support you with finding work, volunteering, confidence building and courses.

Get Cooking! – Adults

Get Cooking® (8 week accredited food & nutrition programme)

Save money on food by learning to cook meals from scratch!  Get Cooking® is a fun cookery course which is accredited – Agored Cymru at Level 1.

We have sessions on Thursday lunchtime at the Wyndham Street Diner for adults, and Thursday evenings at Butetown Youth Pavilion for young people aged 15 – 19.

Foodwise – Weight Management Programme

Food Wise® – 8 week Weight management programme

If you’re over the recommended BMI  (Body Mass Index) then this course will help you manage your weight through healthy eating and exercise.

Each session consists of discussion and hands-on activities to help you learn more about portion sizes, food labelling, daily exercise, recipe swaps and longer term plans for weight management.
