What time are bins collected UK?
Collections are from 7am to 6pm on the day of your collection, there is no set time during this period. Before reporting a missed bin collection: Have you checked your bin collection date? Was your bin placed on the edge of your property by 7am on your collection day?
How many bin bags can I put out Cardiff?
You will receive enough to put out up to 3 bags per fortnightly collection. You will not be able to buy these bags in shops. You will only be able to ask for extra bags if you are in a household of 6 or more.
Where can I get green bags in Cardiff?
Green recycling bags are provided free of charge from Cardiff Council. You can find your nearest stockist on the Cardiff Gov app or order them online for a home delivery.

Leaves, grass cuttings, plant and flower cuttings, small twigs and branches can be put out for collection. Compost or soil, animal bedding, rubble, decorative stones, garden items such as watering cans, wood that is treated or untreated, green recycling bags and general waste cannot be collected.
Can you recycle polystyrene Cardiff?
 Polystyrene can ‘t be recycled in Cardiff at present, please place in your black bag/bin.  Recycle plasterboard at 2 of our Household Waste Recycling Centre sites across Cardiff: Bessemer Road and Lamby Way.

You will need to buy your own black sacks for general waste. These sacks should be put out for collection by 11:00am on your designated day of collection. To avoid sacks being torn open, please do not put black sacks out overnight.

The recycling centres will open from 8.30am until 4.30pm seven days a week. Residents can only book an appointment online through the council website:www. cardiff.gov.uk/recyclingcentres.
Can I take black bags to the tip?
You cannot take black bags (non-recyclable) to Gargoch, Penlan or Tir John. Important to know: Recycling centres in Swansea are only open to residents from the City and County of Swansea. Garngoch, Penlan and Tir John have a 2M height restriction.
Can you put clothes in the bin UK?
We don’t think so. There’s no reason to put any clothing or textiles in the bin. If you can ‘t fix, upcycle, sell, share or give away unwanted items, they can still go into a textile recycling bank. Socks, pants, even old curtains, they can all be re-used.
